Brush up on Pandora’s History with Borderlands: The Story so Far

If You’re Just Jumping into the Series Now…

There’s a lot of hype surrounding Gearbox’s long-awaited Borderlands 3. It’s still about five months away, so you could blast through the games to get caught up in time for the release. But maybe you’re busy; there are other games to play, after all. No problem. Gearbox released a trailer called Borderlands: The Story so Far to get people (re)familiarized with the Borderlands story. This recaps the story of the first Borderlands game, told by our favourite weapons dealer Marcus Kincaid.

The trailer mostly acts as an ad for the re-release of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition. It also outlines the basic plot of the series and reminds everyone of the villain’s name in the first game. It’s Commandant Steele, by the way, in case you completely forgot like your old pal Zane here. The trailer wraps up with the death of the final boss the Destroyer and the introduction of Handsome Jack. Hang on, this is only half-way through “the Story so Far”. What gives? Well, it says “To Be Continued”, maybe there will be more trailers rolling out that cover the story of the other games.

Marcus Kincaid isn’t the only recurring character in the Borderlands series. It would be cool to have more trailers for Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel, and Tales From the Borderlands narrated by different characters. I mean, I would prefer the whole series being recapped by Tiny Tina, but Moxxi and Patricia Tannis could be cool, too. There’s certainly time before Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13th on PC via Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One.
